Tuesday Health and CareSource Text Messaging Opt-In

Tuesday Health and CareSource Text Messaging Opt-In

Purpose:
This document outlines how Tuesday Health obtains consent to send text messages to members in compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and other relevant regulations.

Background:
Tuesday Health partners with CareSource to provide healthcare services to members. CareSource’s TCPA Policy & Procedure allows texting members who have provided a mobile number as part of their application for coverage. This policy serves as the initial basis for consent to text members.

Opt-In Process:

1. Initial Opt-In via CareSource Application

  • When members apply for healthcare coverage through CareSource, they provide their mobile phone numbers as part of the application process.
  • According to CareSource’s TCPA Policy & Procedure, members who submit their mobile number during this process are considered to have provided consent to receive communications via text message related to their healthcare services, including those from Tuesday Health.

2. Verbal Consent During Tuesday Health Enrollment:

  • During the enrollment process with Tuesday Health, members are informed that text messaging will be used as a form of communication for important updates, reminders, and feedback surveys.
  • Members are explicitly asked for verbal consent to receive text messages as part of their interaction with Tuesday Health. This consent is documented in our system to ensure compliance and respect for the member’s communication preferences.

Confirmation and Consent Management:

  • After enrollment, the first text message sent to members from Tuesday Health includes a confirmation request. Members are informed that by replying to the message, they confirm their consent to receive further text messages.
  • All subsequent messages include an option to opt-out at any time by replying “STOP.” This allows members to withdraw their consent easily, ensuring ongoing compliance with their preferences.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:

  • Tuesday Health securely stores all records of consent, including the initial opt-in provided through CareSource’s application process and verbal consents obtained during the enrollment process.
  • These records are maintained in our system and are accessible for auditing purposes to demonstrate compliance with TCPA and other relevant regulations.

Conclusion:
Tuesday Health’s opt-in process for texting members is thorough and compliant with TCPA guidelines. By combining the initial consent obtained through CareSource’s application process with verbal consent during the Tuesday Health enrollment, we ensure that all communications are conducted with the appropriate permissions from our members.
